Sierra Nevada Motorway
A government bill was passed tis week announcing that the current name of the Sierra Nevada Motorway (the A44) be changed to “Costa Tropical@ motorway.
Hoteliers and the board of Tourism welcomed the change and it is hoped that this will in turn improve the profile of Tourism in the area.
Motril, Port Transformation
A strategic plan to increase tourism on the Costa Tropical between 2009-2024 has been released.
In this plan the local authorities wish to create space in Motril Port for 600 yachts. Also they seek to increase commercial area at the Port to 60% providing 420,000 square meters of overall space.
