La Herradura, situated in a beautiful large bay, is a typical Andalucian village of "La Costa Tropical" 60 km from Granada and Málaga. La Herraduras has four main beaches, Berengueles (Sports port), Herradura, Calaiza and the Naturist beach of Cantarriján.Watersports are very popular in this resort and there are numerous businesses offering different types of courses and equipment hire. Divers will find some of the best underwater scenery in La Herradura of anywhere along the southern coast. |
The beautiful bay is one of the prettiest bays along the south coast of Spain. La Herradura together with Almunecar form two of the key tourist areas on the Costa Tropical. This relatively unknown stretch of Spain's southern coastline belongs to the Granada province in Andulcia and lies between the Costa del Sol to the west and the coast of Almeria to the east. Along the 19km of local coastline visitors can choose from a large variety of beaches and small covers, ranging from fine sand to shingle.
