Rainfall in Andalucia
With quite a numbers of years with low levels of rainfall in Andalucia, December 2009 really made a dramatic change.
In December Andalucia saw the most rain in 60 years. Following this now Granada has accumulated enough rain for 2 years.
In 12 days there was 238 litres for each square metre giving rise to reservoirs reaching 60.50 % of their capacity, as opposed to only 35.11% 12 months earlier.
This is excellent news, but we must not lose site that water in this region is a scarce commodity and we must continue to be frugal with it’s usage.
