From Motril to Japan

A man from Motril will embark on a journey to drive over two continents, Europe and Asia. Malpica Vicente Ruiz, along with three friends will travel to Japan from Andalucia on motorbikes, in total a distance of 25,000 kilometers. But this is not the first adventure for Malpica, who went to Canada, the United States and Alaska for three years travelling some 65,000 miles.

The journey, dubbed “Samurai route ‘, will take three months to go through the Mongolian dirt tracks, and also Russia, where half the roads are dirt also. The same journey was undertaken by the Japanese by boat around the year 1600 AD,that’s why in the town of Coria del Río in Seville most of its people have the surname Japan.
There are a number of sponsors already for this venture however they are still in search of more, with the estimated budget being around 12,000 Euros per person.

The trip will commence on June 5, 2010, at 10.00. The adventurers will start from the town of Coria del Río (Sevilla) and be bound for Sendai (Japan).
