With a polulation of 3,000 inhabitants during the winter this number multiplies in summer due to the many toursits who flock to its magnificant beaches.
torrenueva, called after the Arabic word for watchtower was built as part of a defensive strategy for the Granada coast. The “torrenos” locals are very pleasant and hospitable people. Torrenueva’s excellent grey-sand beaches are shallow and protected by dykes and are ideal for all-year round breaks.
in the water of these beaches you can find plenty of varieties of molluscs and different species of seashells, whose shells can be found on the shoreline, much to the delight of the children.
